Nanette dedicated her life to pageantry, as a competitor, coach, mentor and leader, Nanette was a visionary and had the magic touch when it came to preparing queens for the pageant experience. She was well-respected and known as the "Queenmaker." Her role in shaping the plus-sized pageant industry was something to behold, as the director of Texas Plus America, Executive Director of Miss Plus America and the Co-Founder of Miss Plus World.

Fondly known as "Mama Nette," she became a mother-figure to many. Although not having her own children, she adopted many pageant daughters whom she loved and cared for deeply. Her legacy remains with those who have had the opportunity to sit under her care and mentorship.
